OTEPIC – throughout 2015       CHF53K

Through a facilitated donation from the Bachmann Foundation we could support OTEPIC in their efforts to build a new community center, including a conference hall, a house for midwifery and birthgiving as well as living spaces. The aim of the project was also to use local materials in the process and educate the local community in doing so.

For us, the intention was to further support Philip Munyasia (founder of OTEPIC) in his aim to create a shared leadership and visionary carrier group for OTEPIC, and to help the enhancement of the infrastructure so that OTEPIC – as a Healing Biotope-oriented permaculture education site – can meet the growing demand for education.

The building site was carried out with vast support from the community, using local materials for durable roofs and other aspects of the building. The process already served the community in its cohesion and OTEPIC’s reputation in the wider region.
